Abstract
The article considers the current issue of ensuring the professional orientation of the general education discipline “Chemistry” when studying under the secondary vocational education program based on the synchronization of subject, meta-subject and personal results of mastering the discipline with general and professional competencies of the specialty 02.23.06 “Technical operation of railway rolling stock”.
The proposed methodology for teaching the general education discipline “Chemistry”, taking into account the professional orientation of the basic educational program of secondary vocational education, includes the structuring and selection of professionally oriented course content and the use of modern, eff ective ways of its implementation. The purposeful use of active learning methods (case technologies, game technologies, solving problems with practice-oriented content, developing interdisciplinary individual projects) is proposed.
An analysis of the results of a study conducted at the Volgograd Technical School of Railway Transport — branch of Rostov State Transport University in the 2023–2024 academic year showed that in the process of teaching the general education discipline “Chemistry”, taking into account the professional orientation of the main educational program of the vocational school, the level of motivation of students to study the course of general education discipline increases signifi cantly.
It can be concluded that the described approach to teaching contributes to improving the quality of mastering the content of a general education discipline and becomes a condition for the formation of a base of professional competencies.
