Abstract
This article discusses the approach in teaching students of the College of Railway Transport in the study of the discipline “Logistics of freight transport” presents the results of a study conducted among second-year students of the specialty 23.02.06 Technical operation of railway rolling stock (Wagons). The application of the foresight approach in the training of freight logistics allows you to anticipate and analyze trends in the development of the transportation market and make competent decisions based on them. Decision-making is one of the mandatory competencies formed in the classroom when studying professional disciplines. An example of the use of foresight sessions in the classes “Logistics of freight transportation” is given. The stages of the construction of the lesson “Logistics opportunities for optimizing freight transportation” using the foresight approach are shown. It was revealed that the use of the foresight approach in training contributes to improving the quality of students’ knowledge and developing their critical thinking, forecasting and planning skills in logistics. An additional advantage of the foresight session methodology is the improvement of communication and collaborative abilities of students, as they will work in groups and exchange ideas and opinions. This study shows the need to introduce a foresight approach in the educational process to improve the effectiveness of training railway transport technicians.
